REBuilding a better future

Helix CMS celebrates #IED2023. Our celebration of the brilliant women in our team extends all year round, beyond International Women’s Day

Construction is a fantastic industry full of opportunity and at Helix we are working hard to ensure that we break down the barriers women face to access jobs within our company. The construction industry has come a long with regards to the representation of women – but there is still more to be done. Currently, women make up around 15% of the construction industry’s workforce across the UK and we believe increasing visibility of this is key today, and every day.

As experts in delivering value within the industry, we know that there’s more to construction than bricks and mortar. From the point of inception, when a building is still just an idea in someone’s mind, right through to completion and handing over a project, there is so much that goes on behind the scenes to get to that point, and that takes a team, made up of brilliant people.

We are proud that our delivery team is made up of skilled, expert women who think progressively and are driving Helix CMS forward and we support them on their journey to achieving greatness, professionally and personally.

“Customers, suppliers and future talent increasingly want to work with forward-thinking companies that demonstrate this by having a diverse workforce.” - Amanda Fisher, Amey, supporter of The REbuild Project

Progressive thinking is a mindset and we’re always looking to continually improve. We promise to deliver every project to the highest standard, through transparent, innovative and modern ways of thinking and working and this includes diversifying our workforce. We make it our mission to recruit on our values, not gender.

At Helix, we’re proud to be allies and working in partnership with The REbuild Project and the incredible work it is doing. The project aims to engage and energise the government to use its buying power to help address inequality in the industry. By placing gender equality at the heart of major decisions – including procurement, to improve ‘the 3 R’s’ for women in the construction industry:

  • Representation: increase the percentage of women joining the industry at all levels

  • Recognition: improve the percentage of women holding board-level and senior positions

  • Remuneration: address the pay differentials and close the gender pay gap

We asked our brilliant women to share their proudest achievement since joining the team – here's what they had to say.
